I'm with you on the way the Xander-is-the-real-hero crowd seem to be quite dominant over at TtH - and really I don't get it.

Yes, it is madness. I started writing a Xander-real-dad fic (because my new favorite spn character is *perfect* for it lol) and was not surprised (on both TtH and .net) how many more reviews, hits, and 'favorites' it got.

Occassionally I'm tempted to write a *real* bad "Super-Xander who has a harem of Scoobies and slash with every hot male multi-fandom hero!" story just to run an experiment lol ;)

I would hang my head in shame since I am one of those Xander people, but then again I've never written a Xander story that bashes Buffy or Willow, though (in fairness) one I'm writing now does have Xander and Willow at very serious odds, but I have a good reason for that, except I don't want to share that reason until the story is over.
(And, okay, just remembered that I have another fanfic where I kill Buffy and Willow upfront, but in that one I killed Willow because I wanted to play with Tara but didn't want it to be a Willow/Tara story, and for some reason I can't seem to have Willow and Tara in the same fanfic without having them together. And in that one Buffy had to die because I couldn't make/get Buffy to stop fighting and run while the world was basically ending. It just didn't feel true to Buffy. So, I didn't do it to favor Xander but for other reasons.Of course, I probably don't bash the girls cause with the exception of Dawn (and Buffy herself in season seven - HATED BUFFY during season seven, especially the latter parts
