I think this is the third year now that we don't get today off. And I'm still bitter, dangit! Let the slacking commence! I mean, really, I need today off so I can sit at home reflecting on the great presidents of this country. That's totally what I would be doing if I had today off.

Soooooo I finally watched Two Brothers last night. I'd been ( Read more... )

It WOULD be nice not having weekend crowds when you're running errands. Though sometimes I do stuff after work for that reason and that works well too.

Honestly, I wouldn't bitch about it if we didn't used to get this day off. We work three more days a year now than we used to. And I should be over it by now but I find it so annoying.

I do enjoy celebrating the major holidays with my family, but if we were open and people needed to work on say, Christmas, I think I'd volunteer so the people with kids could take off. As long as I get as many days off as they do, switching the days wouldn't be that big a deal. Which I guess is why my brother doesn't ask for holidays off.

Your family can bite your shiny metal ass!

Right... they aren't your kitties because obviously, all kitties on the street have names and sits on peole's laps.

Hehe, why not commiserate with us Canadians? If we asked to have the day off our bosses would all just look at us and start laughing. XD Although in Ontario today it is supposedly "family day" which is an official statutory holiday the premier instituted so he would get re-elected people could have a holiday in February. Trouble is he forgot to tell the federal government, so anything that is federally-funded or operated continues to function.

So does the newspaper where I work, since the news business never sleeps. I was at work this morning, quite grudgingly too. Heh.

And I do that exact same thing with my iPod. XD I thought I was the only one!

You guys have your own holidays though so you can point and laugh when you're off and we're not. Heheh. Family day? So if you don't have any family you have to work? *snicker*

Hehehe, yeah it's not like it's the radio and the songs are actually random enough that you might not like something.

Hmmm, comment notifications seem to be going wonky again. *le sigh*

Those are pretty cool names for cats!

Shanghai is a great name for a cat. Did you know its also the name of a city in, uh, southern Italy or Belgium or...Spain, I think? And its also the name of a card game that I have never lost at, except when other people at the table are in the same family and obviously cheat.

And Kamala is a terrific name, too. He was a wrestler during the 1980s and 1990s, mostly in the WWF. He was a big fat dude with a painted sun and moon on his belly, and spoke no English. Just like the whiny cat!

Wtf, gmail notifies me of this comment, but not others. You must be SPESHUL.

Actually, yes, you are, because you obviously can't READ. And we both know who cheats at games around here, Mr. Hidden Scrabble Tiles!

Karmala is a mark (Avon) fragrance. That's closer to that wrestler dude than Kumal!

Freddie Highmore grew up when I wasn't looking! Not that that has anything to do with anything.

P.S. You should go look at the people who did the 80s meme and give them your version of who Bill Buckner is. :P
