As everyone knows, I'm not in Singapore and so can't vote this time round, not that it makes any difference since the ward I stay in is Tanjong Pagar, the only one which was uncontested. Nevetheless I made sure I was aware of what's going on, thanks to sites like Online Citizen, Mr Wang Says So and Blinkymummy ( Read more... )

Not trying to start an argument but I think the issue surrounding GY is that most people feels for him; a loyal servant to the country, to his people got screwed over by the stupid GRC system that he had given up his time, sacrificed a lot to servce. He is/was an excellent minister.

everyone has their own opinion :)

the GRC system is PAP's way of making sure opposition is kept out, now that they lost Aljunied, I'm pretty sure they will find a way to fix it so that come next election they will gain it back.

george yeo to me is really not that great a minister. in all honesty, most of the ministers are pretty lousy IMO

Because we cannot vote our pm into office? I'm sure GY can give LHL a run for his $.

honestly i dont really think he is all that great. but that's just me

and as an aside, i know there's a petition in potong pasir to ask for a by-election. i think people should move on, the residents there voted right, even if sitoh wins by one vote, he got that one vote instead of lina chiam.

yeah. potong pasir is a pity. And its not like their MP is going to be TPL so I don't think the petition is likely to go through. From what I heard this Sitoh guy is not bad lah. Haiz wish we have more people the likes of CST to serve our nation.
