Here ye, here ye, all ye residents of Luministi!

[CATs and vidscreens throughout town activate, filling with the image of a sprightly young lady with a dimpled smile. she is grinning fit to burst, with her arms spread wide and looking really rather theatrical. the town square is visible around her with what residents may be able to accurately identify as the town hall directly behind her]

[giggles] I've always wanted to do that. What'd you think? [strikes a pose with her hands on the sides of her mouth, pretending to yell. then drops it, considering] Bit much? Might be.

But still! [suddenly grows serious, though the twinkle in her eyes remains] Town residents, listen up! If you aren't listening already. Oh...there are a lot of you, aren't there? Well, in case you don't know, I'm the town crier here in Luministi. Which means I am the ridiculously reliable, tauntingly timely, incredibly informative Verita! Ta-da! [holds one hand up over her head and the other down behind her, posing very theatrically indeed this time] And I'm here to take care of all your news needs! Mayor signs a bill into law? You'll be the first to know. Graffiti on our beautiful public buildings? You'll get the scoop even faster than it gets cleaned up. And! [grins] Even better, I am your go-to girl for SPECIAL OFFERS. [pauses for effect, then winks]

So speaking of SPECIAL OFFERS! [pauses again, but this time she just needs a breath after all that spoken dramatic effect] There's one on in aaaall the restaurants in town. Yeah, you heard me, that's ALL the restaurants. And you know what they're offering? Free meals! One per person. But you'd better act fast! Because... [leans forward with a hand beside her mouth, speaking in a stage whisper now] There's an extra surprise, only available here, from me, the veritably vociferous and valorously valiant Verita, face of the news! Only while supplies last. So, good citizens of Luministi, hurry and come claim your special prize. [winks again] After all, there's a hamburger out there somewhere with my name on it, and fate waits for no woman, dauntingly dutiful or otherwise!


❧ Plot Details: A Bite, a Riddle, and a Prize

Welcome to Luminsti, everyone! We hope you're as excited as we are to get things started. As you can see, plot posts will consist of the two parts. The first will be an IC announcement made by one of the NPCs, and the second will be this OOC note from the mods, further explaining the current plot.

And in the case of this plot, your character may be surprised that this announcement from Verita is coming only 15 minutes after they first found themselves in their rooms and watched the mayor's transmission. Coincidences aside, any characters who go into the town square will find Verita still there, holding a basket full of small slips of paper. These papers will contain information that can be used to lead characters to the "extra surprise" that Verita is advertising. Anyone who wants to receive one of these papers from her should leave an IC comment below, and she will respond to you.

Once you have your clue from Verita, your character just needs to visit the location that it describes, which could be anywhere mentioned on the Town Features page. Feel free to do that in whatever format you prefer--the body of an entry, a log, or a thread within in an entry. Characters will have different clues but can feel free to team up to accomplish this task (only one reward will be given per clue, so teams will need to solve each member’s clue if they want individual rewards!). When your characters are in the right location, approach a townsperson there. This can be an employee or just a random person who happens to be in the right spot; use your imagination depending on the location. Then return to this post and reply to your clue with a link to where you've solved it. The mods will respond as the townsperson in your linked post/thread/log, either to inform you that you are not in the right place or, hopefully, to provide you with your reward. Just what might that reward be? You'll have to track it down to find out!

To summarize:

• Respond below ICly to receive a clue from Verita.
  
• In a post/thread/log, approach a townsperson in the location you think fits your clue.
  
• Leave a comment to your clue on this post that links us to your solution.
  
• Receive a mod response on your post/thread/log and, hopefully, profit!
In addition to this extra offer from Verita, her information about the restaurants was completely true! When characters venture into any of the town’s restaurants, they will find that they can order whatever first meal they'd like without being asked to make payment from their CATs. So enjoy a bite to eat on the town! It might just be the perfect opportunity to meet some of the other residents who are trapped here just like you.
