The one thing I would love to see from it, as a stand alone work and not as something I'm using for an album, is a bit more white space. Make the canvas bigger and add a touch of shading in the extra area. The subject fills the entire canvas, makes it looked a bit cramped. He has a great expression of regret or isolation or something dark, and if there was more of a sense of isolation I would think it would be even stronger.
The combination of extremely detailed parts (the hands) and the vague (the face, the entire body) is incredible. Brings up a haunting sense of non-identity that is just incredible.
As for it being something to work with for album art- It's perfect. I couldn't be happier. Fits the album perfectly.
excellent i like the words you used to describe it. i was working on re writing my artist statement and think i might borrow some of them to make it better.
