I am now a maam?!

Today I got id'd at the LC.  Nice right...not quite.  After the clerk saw my age on my id, he said "whoops, sorry about that MAAM, don't worry I won't tell anyone what I saw"!  First of all..Maam..what the?!  Second of all you won't tell anyone, since when is 31 ancient!!!

I don't see to much wrong with the maam comment, I use it all the time when I'm on the phone at work but the whole "I won't tell anyone what I saw" comment was very very strange.

Obviously, "don't worry I won't tell anyone what I saw" is trying to save the embarrassment of a everybody knowing that you are actually robbing the cradle by dating that nice young teenage boy by the name of Julian...
