Now that I recall it, the discovery of this voice was an amusement. I was a senior in high school (almost 18), and two friends of the next year down asked me to record this (rather bad, semi-sinister) poem onto tape for use in their D&D game.
'Twas a cheep cassette recorder, and a bad recording environment (the supply closet of the chemistry classroom), so I worked at being as careful at my diction as I could. Pitched my voice slightly lower, and maybe got something resembling a muted New England accent on it. And I already have a natural sibilance...
So when they played it back, they gaped. "You sound like Vincent Price!" And they took to calling me Vince for a few weeks. It was an interesting thing to learn, which I have yet to take fullest advantage of.
On the other hand, I'm really craving those "Accent Your Character" dialect training recordings for roleplayers and storytellers...

Which tickles me no end, since I can approximate his voice and The Lady of the Manor enjoys his work very much (and so do I, of course).
