post 94: look back on 2019 progress

Dec 31, 2019 23:36

I almost forgot about this! -.-January

+ I started off the year by expanding on my techniques and doing things I don't usually like doing such as text.
+ My first post was for monthlyinspo and the post can be found here.

February

+ For February, I had two posts, one for 20muses which I miss and another post for itsabattlefield
+ I more or less used stock and hard mode for 20muses which I enjoyed doing. The posts can be found here and here.

March

+ This month, I worked on 20muses20muses and monthlyinspo as you can see I tried to challenge myself using both stock and fandom for the 20 muses challenge and challenged my vibrant coloring for monthlyinspo. The posts can be found here and here.

April

+ This month, I worked on
monthlyinspo,
itsabattlefield, and
dwstills. I had fun working on my stock, vibrant coloring and softening subjects The post can be found here.

May

+ This month, I worked on so many different challenges, and I think I was pushing myself to bring out stronger and more vibrant coloring. The post can be found here.

June

+ This month, I worked on a lot of different challenges that dealt with coloring (orange), strong lighting and challenging my technical skills. The post can be found here.

July

+ I decided to combine my post for July/August icons and boy did I go crazy to try and work on complex compositions, coloring, and other technical skills.

August

+ This post had too many icons and strenghting my technical skills. I really enjoyed creating that text for the good omen icon. The post can be seen here.

September

+ I created  a love story for the monthlyinspo challenge, working on game of thrones and reign for themeofthemonth, and working on other challenges. The posts can be seen here, here, here, and here.

October

+ I created icons for monthlyinspo theme which was fun to work on! The post can be seen here.

November

+ I worked on doing more complex compositions for me and I really enjoyed doing that. The post can be seen here.

December

+ I worked on so many different challenges, and I really enjoyed making more clean cut subjects and working on my compositions. The posts can be found here, here, and here.

Closing Thoughts
+ I feel like I have grown as an icon maker, and tried working on text work, complex compositions and trying to step out of my comfort zone. I had tons of fun doing this.
+ To work on: I still want to work on text work (so uncomfortable with that), blocking, complexity, step out of my comfort zone for sure!

I'm not making any head count for how many icons I created because that's just pretty silly, but I am still proud of the growth I have made.
