BBC Israel-Coverage Watch

Jul 23, 2009 13:00

After following the BBC for a few days on my new RRS feed reader (NewsFire, by the way. It's very good) and paying special attention to how they cover Israel, I've become increasingly shocked at the crassness of their anti-Israel position.

Here are ALL the stories on the BBC about Israel from the past week (let me know if I've missed any):

The change in bias is recent, and disappointing. ext_108609 July 27 2009, 19:19:17 UTC
I have in fact noticed that the BBC Online website has become increasingly biased and anti-Israel. This is a very recent phenomenon though. Their coverage of the Gaza crisis in early 2009 was surprisingly balanced, I think.
It's a shame.

I think it's always been kinda like this, though perhaps not as bad, and less blatant. For instance, this incident (40 children killed when Israeli tanks opened fire on a school) simply never happened.

I notice they put a little non-retraction retraction at the end. But no one will read that retraction except us. Millions of people saw the report as the first item on their TV news and internet news and newspapers, etc., and they saw all sorts of leaders and world figures commenting about it and saying how evil the Israelis are.
