In general, in my particular Black family, we can be cooped up like rabbits. There were six of us kids. I still sleep with my mom if there's no room anywhere else. Out in the world, that's a different story.White family here, and it's the same thing- we can lay over, under, and around each other fine.. I'm the same way with my friends, but people who do not know me, should not touch me. It's weird because I'm a very friendly person, I'll talk to anyone, but if you grab at my hand, even in a nice way to get my attention, I freeze you out. The people who usually sit at my table on Thurs nights laugh when they see me do what they call my "ice Queen." Someone will grab my hand and they'll all start rbbing their arms and saying, "Brrrr!" It's a little dorky, but accurate. Meanwhile, I've got their arms across my shoulders, legs pressed together, drinking out of each other's glasses, it's all good

Yes. It's an intimacy thing. I agree and it makes a lot of sense. I just specified my family because I *don't* think, ask discussed on blackfolk that's it's particular to us that we don't like people who aren't close to touch us. I don't think it's unusual to not want random drunks throwing an arm over your shoulder at a bar. While singing "Freebird" LOL! Or at all. Yet I feel like a friendly person.
I need to find a karaoke night around here. So fun!
