hi Lula! ya I did teach myself to play guitar. all you need is a good chord book and a guitar. :) a tuner is not bad either but definitely not essential. You can find a great variety of songs to play on guitar online as well. and the exciting thing about the guitar is that once you learn a few chords, you can play a song!!!
granted, I am not that good. I think there is a big learning curve cuz I feel like I have been at the same level for a long time. but then again I haven't played for like a billion years. :) :p

See, that's what I worry about: tuning. I don't want to hold the chord properly and get wrong what it's supposed to sound like. And vice versa. I have a good chord book. I think I may pay for one or two lessons so someone can show me how to tune and a few chords, then have fun on my own!
