It's kinda funny actually, so I don't think I'll wring anyone's neck just yet. Might be worth emailing to get them to credit me, though.

EDIT: They credited me, so this post is now about how cool it is that Luka has an illustration featured in a proper tech blog.

I would totally email them. Annalee Newitz was totally nice when I ran into her (she won't remember me though) and also, if they're using your art in that article, there is a chance that they got it from the creepy wallpaper app. The people who made that might have been the ones that really stole it, which if I were you, I'd want to know.
