I hope things work out okay for your friend - 24 is SO young to have to worry about that kind of invasive surgery. I am amazed that the doctor hasn't spoken to her about all the possible consequences of the procedure - with any luck, she'll still get to keep her other ovary. *keeps fingers crossed*
