I have had a plot bunny, since you made the Xander in Africa ficathon, and I enlisted on it. I have figured out the whole plot outline and even made some research. Now I “only” have to find the time to write it *sigh*

Sounds like it could be a funny scene, especially if you can build a story around it. Kind of reminds me of the idiot who tried to rob the donut shop in "Robocop 3" :)

Yeah, finding out where to put it is the issue... it's probably fine as a small scene in a fic, but would probably seem unnecessary. Having it as a standalone is more difficult as the readers would already be assuming the result.

You could probably make it work as a standalone if you make the POV character someone not in the know - ie. (one of) the mugger(s) / a date of one of the Scoobs that didn't know the truth yet / someone else present that was about to be mugged. (So that it's set firmly with the characters, but unless one of them uses another's names they don't actually have to be named within the fic, only described.)

Could work as a scoobies night off post S7 ignoring S8. As a light interlude. A night at the cinema fic a riff on the TV series where they all comment of the film on screen (name gone for now) Especially if its Buffy and Faith picking holes in one of Xander's favourites.

Or alternatively it goes dark, slayers move , gun goes off Xander shot? Then work as the start of an angsty piece.
