It's differences in editors. The Monday-Tuesday editor doesn't have me on her readlist, although the others do, so anything I post over the weekend I have to ask her to post in comments or wait until sweptawaybayou's day and Snow will usually post it.
It sucks because I post nearly everything I do on the weekend. But if you give her a link in the comments she'll put it on Tuesday's su_herald.
But because someone took so long to write the last chapter, I have to reread from the beginning. And yours isn't one of those stories I can just skim quickly. I have to actually read the sucker, ya know?
You mean that before now, you've never had to pimp your own stuff there? I'm jealous! I've self-pimped every single one of my own fics there and even then, a couple were missed. But I did ask and it wasn't a deliberate snubbing or anything, just that one of the editors didn't have the access to read all the comments, that's all.
Also, you finished Snowblind?! I will now have to re-read the fic before I can FB. And I was supposed to be working today. Dumb work, keeping me from what's truly important.
I have pimped to the Herald before. I didn't pimp Snowblind and I didn't pimp that bit. Fic sometimes gets pimped there by others, and somethimes it gets on the Herald itself. I've tried and failed enough to let others do it, and if I was running something like that, I'd value the recs from people who read the story and said "Hey, this is way cool" over the recs from people who wrote it and want to publicize it, so if that's what's happening at su_herald, I don't have an argument.
Really, as I say elsewhere in the comments, it's that something I consider important didn't get grabbed but something that I consider inconsequential that was two posts later did. I'd quote Elvis and say "I used to be disgusted but now I'm just amused" but I never was disgusted. The Angels do want to wear my red shoes, though.
Yes, I finished "Snowblind"! It's right here!. Can't wait to see how you like it.
I'm tired of you complaining about this. It's really crap of you, I reckon. It's hard work, doing the Herald, and you refuse to help out by linking your stuff, preferring instead to bitch about something that is done entirely voluntarily and to no small personal cost.
I saw your post t'other day and I commented on the Herald, with a couple of other things, to help them out and because I thought it was quite interesting. You could have done that. You chose not to. I almost wish I hadn't bothered now.
I'm choosing now to defriend you, I think. Because I don't want to see this post, complete with obscene gesture, again next time you post some fic. Of course, it is your journal and you may do as you please. I just don't think I want to read it any more. No hard feelings, mate.
OK, I used the Cash icon. I never get to use it, so I thought I might. Perhaps a bit stupid. I'm sorry for that.
Really, it's befuddlement. 3000 words of fiction? Nothing. Maybe 200 words of analysis? Link. That analysis? Not hard. Not, to my mind, particularly insightful. It was more a pimp than a comment, anyway. I'm confused, I'm amused, I'm ever-so-slightly frustrated, I'm over it.
I'm sorry to upset you. Really. I just found it funny.
