Gladys’ face as Kate walked into the bar with Betty was priceless. She clearly hadn’t been expecting the girl to show up. She had also clearly had several drinks, Betty thought, and she came careening toward them, and threw her arms around Kate.

Side note--have you heard of the 1920s radio network? You can get it streaming. That would probably also be a nice thing to read Bomb Girls fan fiction to.

Poor Kate, tearing up over Betty and Annie and not really understanding why.
I'm glad you mentioned that Kate had been gone about six months; I wondered if she would feel like Betty had transferred her affections rather quickly, but I hadn't realized that she had been gone that long.
I will be interested to see where Kate 2.0 falls on the scale of Marion to Kate 1.0; as an example, the reference to Kate 1.0 saying "darn it to heck." I don't really see any version of Kate ever embracing cursing, but at the same time I definitely expect Kate 2.0 to get back to singing all sorts of music.

Agreed on the cursing and the singing. I feel like Kate will be admonishing Betty about her vocabulary for the next 60 years.

And yes, I had to bring back Head Nod Shirley (I like the full title :))! I feel like it's just one example of the brilliance of this show--that one little moment opened the door to so many potential back stories.
