papillio_luna just linked me here because we've had similar conversations about the brain-breaking reaction Torchwood fandom had to COE, and basically you are my hero. I can't even really come up with anything more coherent than that, so here is a gif:

THIS. YES.

Sorry, linked here by papilio_luna. You just gave words to everything I've been feeling since Day Four aired and the fans attacked James Moran.

I hope you don't mind if I link this post all over the place. Oh, and if you make a Team Rusty t-shirt? I'll be wearing it to the Hub 3.

I don't mind at all; public post in a public place, and if I didn't want people to read it I'd have locked it down. :)

Team Rusty shirts would be AWESOME.

*Also wants a Team Rusty t-shirt*

There have been some really sucky fanbrats emerging lately :(

Apparently t-shirts would be a big seller! :)

I can't see all where you're coming from as I'm not gay, only liked Ianto and was much, much more broken up about Tosh (DAMNIT!), but I agree so much with the utter and complete stupidity vented against RTD for his homophobia. That and, of course, killing off Ianto because he likes Rose (from Who) best. I have no idea how the two even connect, but that's the other big reason he killed off Ianto apparently ... never mind, that as you pointed out, it's in the show's DNA!!! Torchwood employees DIE YOUNG! Sigh.

Stupid fandom, stupid, stupid, stupid fandom. I adore RTD because he writes ALL of his characters (straight, gay, black, white, whatever) as real flesh-and-blood people that we can love, hate, laugh and cry with.

Great post and I found myself nodding my head in agreement so vehemently through much of it.

Thanks, I'm glad to hear it appealed to more than just the virulent queers among us. :)
