The Washington Post & the New York Times.

Even if you don't read the Washington Post or the New York Times, if you're a politician in the USA, those are the two newspapers you "read" if you're at all serious about anything. Heck, and she could have added in the Alaskan Acorn too for that rustic rural edge or whatever for extra points ( Read more... )

Maybe in her head the New York Times is radically left, and she was worried about scaring off her supporters if she said she read it. That's the only thing I can think. That the New York Times was the only paper to enter her head, but the only associations she has with it is, "ooh, evil left-wing bias in the press," so she couldn't say it.
