Prop 8 protests
I realize that Prop 8 was particularly awful in that it snubbed marriages that already existed, but it's a mistake to focus so heavily on it, when on Tuesday two other states passed bans on same-sex marriage. I think that's why you had folks like Obama, who is for civil unions but also keeping marriage for heterosexuals, saying that he was against Prop 8. Once the right is given, don't take it away.
I think that might also be where Schwartzenager might be coming from with his seemingly contradictory opinions and equality marriage and Prop 8.
It might also be that they're both afraid of losing votes if they come out in favor of equality marriage - politicians after all.
