It seems that I will be welcoming quite a few others today. Both Muggles. Both scum that will soon be relegated to certain positions. Wonder if this Carolyn Muggle will choose to become one of us. Wonder if she'll cling to her pathetic roots with all the self-righteous indignation that a Muggle can have ( Read more... )

Well; FINALLY somebody who doesn't fit the story-book profile. This man is fucking GORGEOUS. All neat, down to the last platinum-blonde hair, and dressed.. erm... nattily, for a wizard. After all the rest of them got progressively weirder, I think I was expecting him to have six heads ( ... )

Heh heh heh. Folks that pale ALWAYS show the blushing. It looks good on him.

You know what? I don't often say this, but here's a fellow who'd look good with makeup on. Like... a lot of it. He could actually pull it off.

"Isn't everybody just a LITTLE mad?" I grin at him.

Then I laugh at his description of Walden. "Sounds like my type of warrior," I add - because he does. Real, straightforward, no bullshit. I mean, sure, the excess testosterone can be a problem, but I SO rather that over the smarmy, fake kind.

I eye him sidelong as we walk.

"Well... that's a good question. What's involved in it? How much of a risk is there that it won't work and I'll just end up with six heads or something? If he's perfected it... gods. How stupid would I have to be NOT to want it?" Really. He gets a dry look to go with that. "IF it really worked... hell. I'd be out of my skull not to take it."

Her answer makes me wonder about other Muggles. How many would want the treatment? But just how many would use their new abilities to strike back at us? Rebellions can be commonplace and I will not have Arthur creating new wizards to serve as enemies to our Lord ( ... )

"That doesn't sound so bad, actually." I sound surprised - and I am. Arthur made it sound so much more... eeky.

Maybe it IS eeky.

Am I really considering this?

"I'm not afraid of pain, Lucius. If it actually worked... it'd be worth it."

The way of life question is trickier.

His boss didn't like the idea that I hunt vampires for a living; but on the other hand, this "Walden" character is an executioner, so clearly SOMEBODY needs killing.

Probably Muggles. Gods, I want to laugh. Or cry. Or hide.

...do I really want to do this?

"What kind of job would I be able to get?" comes out of my mouth - and because I do'nt mean 'can I be a secretary please Mr. Nice Wizard Sir,' I clarify. "I exterminate dangerous creatures right now, Lucius. That's what I do. Those skills - logically - would travel with me into the new life if that's what I decided. Would there be a place for someone like me, given that?"

"Depends on your idea of an occupation. Walden is the Executioner simply because he was employed by the Ministry of Magic to do just had. He had to put down beasts that harmed wizards. Under the Dark Lord's reign, he hunts down beasts that still harm wizards, only there's no bothersome red tape to wade through.

"What sort of dangerous creatures do you hunt down? Griffins? Dragons?" There was a multitude of them and I have to wonder if she's seen all there is to see of magical creatures.

If so, then how?

"There's a place for everyone, Carolyn. He makes sure of that."
