Yes there was mention of it being difficult to find a jeweller. I doubt that they would have taken them off Cain's body - bad karma / bad mojo and all :D I have to admit I was wondering how they went about finding a jeweller. I mean it's not as if the colonial fleet would probably still have jewellers! :D

Well with about 50.000 people on the ships, there is a good chance that one of them should be a jeweller. I guess we'd have a wide-spread field of expertise there.

Of course taht means that they might even have the odd biologist, but that would have meant someone else working on the stuff Baltar is doing now. Nah, better make him the all-in-one genius and expert, because naturally genii are experts in *all* fields of science. /sarcasm

What? You mean that you don't think programming the military mainframe (and letting your girlfriend hack in to it) qualifies you to be a biological scientist? Even if part of the biological makeup of some of the folks you're running detector test on involves cybernetics? ;-)

Heck, even computer hardware and software are different disciplines, unless you're a television writer who just pootles about adding new toys and software programs to their Mac.
