But what is a pulse? You only know it's there by detection with your senses, and there's no proof that your senses are accurate or correct. The state of living is tied intrinsically to the state of existence, which in turn is defined by reality. Reality, however, is mutable and subjective. The fact of the matter is, there's no proof that any of us really and truly exist. Therefore, when you ask "Are you alive?" I have no option but to say, "Who knows?"
