The Stars and Scones Bakery and Coffee Shop is now up on AO3 for your Kindle fanfic collections or whatever. The first two chapters have been revised, though I bet I've missed a few typos. I'll hopefully catch them later.

Next up: Bringing back The Matter of Chicago. :thumbs up:

It hurts my heart to hear that Saints Row 3 is not as good as 2.
Because 2 is one of my favorite games ever.
How is it terrible?

I talked about it over here on the DW side of my journal. I also adored SR2. My SR3 rental, I returned a day early because it was just not compelling in any way. The character creator is dumbed down, the combat is not improved in any way and SERIOUSLY shows its age, they've removed the rival factions and put in a seriously dull linear plotline instead, the activities are now forced on you whether you're good at them or not, and-- ugh.

What made SR2 great was the balance. Was it ridiculous at times? Yes. But it was also capable of a really great storyline and some amazing, tense moments. (Aisha's fate in particular was Holy Shit-worthy.) All that balance is gone, and it's 100% wacky all the time. And I find it boring as fuck. It reeks of cash-in, really.

ETA: And an interesting note, IMO, is that the game got an obvious graphical upgrade, but even with all it's cartoony glory, SR3 just has less personality. It's weird. It's like they had the tools to do better, but didn't. Steelport is bland as fuck when compared to Stillwater. 8(
