Oh, Florida. My feelings on you have so not changed. See, I love going to the beach because standing out in the ocean feeling pushed and pulled by the waves is my ultimate zen place. But everything else about Florida sucks. I'm sadly stranded most of the time, as I don't have a vehicle and Grandmum is often working during the week. And I can never ( Read more... )

That fiiiic. oh god the details, with Hank's nails hurting Alex's arm, Armando wanting to be gay so he can have a family without having to understand women, Raven telling Charles that he's only worth a tenner, and Charles being so manipulative yet sweet in the same moment-- he tries to get rid of Erik's headaches for him! aaaaaah ♥

Erik needs to make an honest man out of Charles, it's totally legal now do it do it do it Erik

It might be awesome to sit down and have a serious chat with your grandmum just so you know where you stand. I know I always hate the uncertainty and that knowing someone doesn't really like me or is ambivalent is better than nothing. You never know she could really enjoy having you there but just be annoyed you like, idk, don't put a dish in the dishwasher right after you use it.

I have a question. I am writing a paper on fandom and its impact on my personal culture (and more if I can get away with it) and I was wondering if I could use a quote from you.

You said: "We're fanfic writers, fanartists, vidders, we build websites, organize cons, and acquire skills in the pursuit of something that cannot ever make money, ever. It's barred to us by the law and we built a culture around it. We built a culture that is at its foundation based on acts of creation that have no purpose other than to give and receive pleasure and has no business application whatsoever. Christ, we can't even claim a higher religious, philosophical, or social purpose in the foundation of our creation, though I believe we are engaged in all three and more anyway, because that's like, pretentious and you know, making ourselves feel better about being total losers."

I prefectly sums up what I've been writing about and it would make a great conclusion. is it alright if I use it in my paper? You will, of course, be credited.

I am so glad you asked me first because I'm not actually the person who said that, I was just requoting. You want to look at this post over here (and I highly recommend reading all of it, it's amazing) and ask Seperis permission.

Good luck with the paper! I hope she says yes to letting you quote her, it's an amazing bit she wrote.

Awesome! Thanks so much. I went and posted to that entry so hopefully she'll give me permission. I'm seriously in love with that quote and it fits so well into my paper that I'm not sure I even want to write it without it in there. You're a life saver!
