This is an odd request, but FListers, will you please share your happiest, more hopeful music right now?

I found out that my family's financial problems are even bigger than we thought. That car trouble a few weeks ago fucking gutted us and we have <$400 in the bank. My medical bills are overdue because I don't have the cash for them, and I wasn' ( Read more... )

I'm sorry things are so shitty hon :-( Let me know if there's anything I can do.

I'm very fond of Elbow's One Day Like This, because it's sunshine-music-festival-old-friends-nearby to me, but maybe it's a bit slow for usual happy music? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QfVejpYc8Zc

Throoooow those curtains wide! I'll see if I can think of any more, I'm bad at recalling song names when I need them.

On a musical note (unintentional bad pun is bad), A Chicago Tryptych is currently the only thing getting me through crazy times at work, so thank you for that *smushes*. And I just downloaded some Janelle Monae as I like the Cold War track so much, so I'm sure I'll be bonding with that shortly.

Zac Brown Band and Jimmy Buffett - Knee Deep.

Words can not explain how much I love this song. I mean, really? Brown and Buffett? *happy place*

I'm fairly certain you have a library that already has a lot of the same material that I do, so I had to do a little thinking for happy-making music :) I dug into my non-indie material for once, and these are songs that personally make me happy, hopefully they do the same for you.

Break the Sky-- The Hush Sound
Under teh Bright Lights-- Empires
Sing-- My Chemical Romance (yeah, yeah, been on the radio a lot, whatever, still an awesome song)
Bright Spring Morning-- Suburban Legends (not a very high quality copy, as it's a local ska band, but this song is what prompted me to go on an insane roadtrip to Chicago. It's also a scientific fact that ska is the happiest music in existence.)
