Been a while since I did a list.
- Mum's arriving in Florida in a few hours. YAAAAAY. I have missed her. I talk shit about Missouri a lot, but I am eager for a change from hectic, get-it-done-now-now-now Floridians. I'm only going to see her for a day, sadly, then I'm on a flight back to Missouri (YAAAAAAY again). Back home, where people don't drive

Um. Yeah, how's that for random discussion of statewide stereotypes on driving?
(Who doesn't like "I Gotta Feeling"? There is nothing wrong with happy dancey music, I say.)

Ahem. I will cease my classic Who geekery.
And, THREE chapters? I salivate. I drool. I can't wait to find out what you've got going on. Your mom's advice is great. Nothing kills a story quite like a bad ending. So it's great that you've got that planned out. It sounds like you've got the whole story planned, as well as another one? Um, yes. This is one reader who's in this for the long haul!

Not another story-- another arc for this story. We're currently in the Red Court arc. I was speaking of plotting the next major arc.
Oh, and The Matter of Chicago = other things the road to hell is paved with. Consider it an alternate title. The Wonder Beta came up with it, modeled after the way major literary cycles in history are called "The Matter Of France," and such.
And yes, three. LOTS of shit going down. It's like dominos.

Ah, I gotta go with Ace for best Who companion. I adore her and her explosives, and the fact that she acts as Seven's conscience, and generally her and Seven's screwed-up co-dependency. Their relationship was COMPLICATED, and I loved it.
Why yes, yes I did write quite a bit of gen fic for them a while back.

I've been reading "other things the road to hell is paved with" from the beginning, and I figured now was a good time to say how much I've been enjoying it. Probably, I should have done so ten or fifteen chapters ago, but better late than never.
It's absolutely fantastic-- heck, you're fantastic-- and I guess what I mean to say that I'm in for the long haul, and looking forward to it.
(Also, I knew Harry had to have seen Doctor Who. Headcanon confirmed!)

I'm thrilled you like it! Glad to hear you're in for the long haul-- as it'll be a LOOOOOOONG haul.
Bonus points: Someone asked Jim Butcher how the hell Harry knows so much about television. The answer is awesome:
"There’s a TV store near Wicker Park, and he sits on a bench across the street from it and watches shows with closed captioning. Yes, Harry is often like a sad Dickens character, standing outside the window looking in."

I'm excited to hear that it will be a LOOOOOOOOONG haul, honestly. I will be able to savor our Mr. Dresden's snark, Marcone's Badass Normalcy, and that delightful, slowly-ratcheting-upward sexual tension for longer.
Hahaha, that's a brilliant explanation. Thanks for sharing it.

BTW, not to rush you or anything, but how much longer until you finish "other things?" I have a strict policy of never reading WIPs

..... I actually burst out laughing when I read that question, IRL and everything. Um. You'll be waiting a LONG TIME. I update very regularly**, usually several times a week, but the fic is going to be several hundred thousand words long, likely. I can't give you an ETA because while I've plotted the next, oh, 75,000 words or so, I'm not sure if there will be yet another plot arc after that before the endgame.
** Current chapters excepted, as they are a special case.
