Ken found something similar enough to a spear he could use for now, until he could find his old one. It was much like his first one, truth be told, and it brought about an odd creature comfort to him. He walked along the side of the river until he saw a man standing there with a katana.

"Hello." he greeted, voice oddly calm for a child with a weapon almost double his size in hand.

[ooc: I'm just going to assume this is a different day than the one with Itachi underneath. >.> If you have objections to that, let me know! <3 ]

Aya turned to look at the boy, brows furrowing in a curious frown as he saw the size of the weapon and not to mention the size of the child carrying it.

It was probably that crazy super power crap that kept popping up everywhere.

The fact that the boy had said before that tiny things were inconvenient almost brought a smile to his lips, almost.

"Hello," he answered simply.

No super power, just training. His wings perked up a little as he rested the spear on his shoulder.

"Have you fought with spear users before?"

"I've fought similar weapons to a spear," Aya answered calmly, observing the boy for now. He wouldn't underestimate anyone by their looks. Omi had been just fifteen when Aya had first met him, Sena wasn't much older and seemed to hold his own well enough. But there wasn't any helping it, Aya would be the one holding back on this one.

How long had it been since he'd simply sparred with another? Itachi's eyes narrowed in thought, but the answer did not come easily. Each fight, for years, was a battle to the death -- often without much of a battle at all.

He was not stupid. Despite the seemingly honest challenge placed to the community, Itachi could not be sure it wasn't a more serious threat. Thus, he'd arrived early, concealing himself near the edge of the treeline with simple genjutsu. Barring the arrival of someone with the ability to sense chakra, he would remain undetected until he chose to reveal himself ( ... )

Turning to look at the man who had approached him, Aya gave very little as he observed the best he could. Dark hair, odd colored eyes but he wasn't sure what was so strange in them, not from this far apart at least. Well trained and at least seemed to know how to hold his weapon. He stilled a satisfied nod, the gesture turning into him tilting his chin down for a second or two, wind fanning a veil of crimson silk over his eyes ( ... )

If anything, this man was fast. Not as fast as Itachi, but faster than many of the shinobi Itachi had encountered. His eyes narrowed as the redhead charged, eyes tracking the subtle tells of his movement -- even though the clone did not have the Sharingan activated, years of Itachi's experience made it a relatively simple matter to read the signs ( ... )

Aya didn't need to be told to attack again. If he'd been entertaining a habit of staying around admiring his handy work, he had been a dead man by now. When Itachi spun, so did Aya, the saya changing course of attack half way through the motion and cutting back to slash where he assumed Itachi would be. Only to miss its target completely.

Fast. Damn fast. Aya would have liked to consider his next attack a moment longer, but that would have meant to give the other time to correct his stance as well. Not that Aya really expected there to be any mistakes, or weaknesses judging by the way the man was looking at him. But that wasn't the point. It was quite clear in the way the man moved, he could have cut Aya open by now, or at least hurt him enough to make the whole sparring pointless ( ... )
