[Isamu has actually forgotten the date, which isn't surprising considering he actually tries not to keep track of that sort of thing here. What's the point, really?

He's returning home now from a walk in the woods. It's possible to catch him on the way, or simply wait until he arrives.]

[Richard will just be lying in wait until he finally arrives home, because it wouldn't do for him to leave in search of his friend and then not be there when he actually does show up.

Besides, he wants to see the look on Isamu's face, okay.]

[Isamu steps in.

Stops.

Blinks, expression deadpan.

Then turns and walks back out.]

[Not a chance, Isamu. Richard will catch him before he's gone more than a few steps - quite literally, with hands on his shoulders - and attempt to turn him around and steer him back inside.]

[The front door slams open, and Pascal skips in with a bundle of books in her hands.]

What's the party for? Who is it for? When's everyone getting here? Is it for me? Is there banana cake?!

[... and here comes the party! Pascal brings it with her wherever she goes.]

Miss Pascal, you're just in time. I'm throwing a surprise party for Isamu's birthday-- do you have anything that could make it a bit more festive?

[Though well aware of Richard's plans to throw a surprise party for Isamu, Hubert still winds up giving the streamers a long look when he comes back inside. Energetic and eager characters like Pascal aside, it's an interesting thought even now that they'd hold a party of all things in the house. He's not going to be able to hole himself up in his room for peace and quiet today.

[Isamu will just be sprawled on the sofa, trying to look displeased and failing by this point.

He gives Hubert a wave.]

[Hubert lowers his head with a hand to his glasses -- a sort of half nod as a return greeting.]

How is the party, Sir Isamu?

Quiet, thankfully.

[He shrugs.] I don't like big gatherings.

[Asbel knew all too well of Richard's plans to throw Isamu a birthday party. It was touching, to say the least. It was nice that Richard went to such extents for his friends, regardless of where they're from.

...But a birthday meant gifts, and so when the realization had hit Asbel that he needed to get Isamu something, he had quickly departed from the house to get him something.

Well, maybe not quickly enough, since he returns several hours later, likely after the party's already started, with a wrapped gift for Isamu.]

[Have a plate of food shoved in your face, Asbel.]

I'm not eating all this.

[If Sanji looks eternally smug over by his corner near the food, idly sipping some hot tea... that's because he is.

He loves birthdays, okay! And he especially likes them for bratty employees who had no idea they were coming.]

[Isamu wanders over with his arms crossed. He's not hiding the fact that he's pleased to see Sanji, though.]

Of course. [So much delighted smirking] A certain royal bastard told me to be here with cake.
