[It'll be easy to spot this gal in the orchard, seeing as she's wearing a bright yellow winter jacket. Pao-lin's happily pickin' away, seemingly heedless of the cold or snow -- really, where the hell does this girl get all her energy from? Must come with being a potential shounen heroine or something.

Anyway, she'll be filling up way more baskets than she'll be taking home, so if you don't feel like busting your ass for mikans, go ahead and hit this girl up for the fruity goods.]

Probably the first. \o/ mikangirl November 16 2011, 16:27:10 UTC
[Nami will swing by at the point it's starting to move towards evening, mug of hot chocolate on offer.]

Here. Pao-Lin, right?

[Pao-lin, who's perched on a high tree branch, cranes her neck over to see what Nami's holding.]

Oh, hi, Nami!

[She fearlessly scrambles down a couple of branches and then jumps the rest of the way to the ground, landing easily on her feet.]

Is that hot chocolate?

[Fff... fast kid. You remind her of Luffy.]

Yep. Hope you like it! Though we also have hot cider here if you'd prefer.

Nah, I love hot chocolate! [Pao-lin takes the mug from Nami and takes a careful sip.] Mmm, this is great! Thanks a lot.

No problem. Thanks for coming up to help, too. I know it's not the best conditions for it.

It's no problem! I've never done anything like this before, so I was really excited to come up here and help out. [She glances around the orchard.] I didn't expect it to be this big, though.

It's pretty small as orchards go, but it's still more than enough for the village. Kind of patterned on the one Bellmere-san ran back home.

The Malnosso just made it appear during an old experiment. [Her smile turns wry.] I think it's probably the only thing I'll ever thank them for.

[She tilts her head.] What kind of experiment was it?

[There's the slightest pause, and Nami still smiles, even if it feels kinda like it's frozen on her face-- Luceti Valley is a sore point. >>]

They made us all think we were longtime settlers in Luceti and gave us all alternate lives.

Oh, that one. I've heard about it, a little. [She frowns.] I hope they don't do something like that again. The stuff with the fairytales and the masks from the past two months is enough for me.

Yeah, I heard the last one was pretty nasty. What happened to you in the fairytale one?

Actually...I'm not really sure. I don't even know what kind of story it was -- it wasn't one I'd ever heard of. But from what I can tell, I was a hero who had to go save a [cross-dressing] princess from an evil king, and I apparently had a fairy friend, too. Grune was the evil king and Mr. Giles was my fairy friend, but I didn't know who the princess was until later.

Yeah, that... well, I suppose evil kings and princess saving are pretty generic as far as stories go, but I'm not sure about the fairy.

...Giles was the fairy? Did he have to dress up?

[Yeeeah Pao-lin's just not gonna talk about how some of her "heroic" activities involved trespassing into other people's private property in order to assault their greenery and rolling into trees for some reason.]

Yeah. He had fairy wings and had blue Christmas lights wrapped around him. [It was a hella weird sight then, but it's hella funny now.]

[It's okay. Nami's a pirate and a thief. She won't hold it against you. |Db And snerk.] It's a pity nobody caught that on camera.
