Funny, it feels like it's been months since that encounter, but it's only been a month at best. The last few hours have been all too taxing, both physically and mentally, but Hubert sets those frustrations aside in favor of reaching Giles over the gravitational disturbance.
There are a couple people who are dead set on staying and preventing the moon from falling (which appears unlikely, but Hubert was never that big of an optimist), so he asks first.]
Will you be staying on the surface?

[He doesn't take his eyes off the moon as he says this. Almost as though simply daring it without words to turn aside. Giles has no hopes that he can stop the moon falling, but he's also not leaving.]
What about you?

I am presently evacuating residents and transporting supplies to the tunnels.
[So in a way, he's staying, but whether or not he does at the very end is questionable.]

I wish I could help with that, but in this fix, I'd probably just drag everyone down.

...I can't remember a thing, though, so I suppose it's only to be expected.

Will you be all right?

I'll survive until that hits. If it hits.

[If it hits. Yes. If.]

At least I'm in a position to notice if it does fall. Don't you agree?

The visions and fears?
. . . yes; quite.

...I wonder if it was the Organization. Or at least the branch of the Organization we're used to dealing with.
