While he had never been unaware of their importance, he was now far, far more appreciative of what his carpenters did. Their work with a saw in particular-- though he was sure the other activities would come to awe him as well.
He finally had to step back for a few moments and watch the work, needing only a brief rest. Mostly because his hand barely wanted to extend, having been gripping the saw handle he'd been put since one bell-- as it had taken some time to organize the effort.]

He couldn't have looked happier as he lugged more logs for Hornblower to chop up. Three large ones. Who needs a cart? Not this guy.
Though he'll regret it later with his back.]
Catching your breath, Hornblower?

I'm afraid I'm not used to this.
[But he was not shirking from hauling as best he could or cutting what was brought to him. He flexed his hand once, offering an apologetic look.]

With the Maia finished and ready for sailing, Giles has missed this. Wishbone's departure and Robert's kidnapping and...every single other thing has all left him without an outlet to let off his restless energy.
Leave it to Kennedy to have the perfect timing.
Giles will be available for cutting or building, whichever seems to need the most people. He'll prefer cutting lumber, though, simply because he doesn't trust himself without a book to reference in building much of anything. And, while he is deeply absorbed in his work and more or less lost to the world around him while doing so, he'll be happy to talk in betweentimes. Distractions are good things right now.

"No. Should I?"
He doesn't think hydration has become a problem at this point...

Sorry, Giles. You're over 40 and have a sedentary lifestyle, so you'll get underestimated.

He spends most of the day doing all the necessary work. He's not opposed to chatting it up while he works, but over the day he finishes everything he needs to almost absurdly fast, which gives him time to either help other people out or just find more things for himself to do.]

Yo! [Wave.] Ahh, that'd be super. I don't think I've actually eaten yet. [Today was pretty much out of bed and off to work.]
