Summary: It is a good day. You're out on the open ocean enjoying the salty sea breeze, and suddenly- OH SNAP, BATTLE STATIONS...

CARGO SHIP; Night 1

[mistyarc]

[Similarly, Hubert had moved ships later that night for the purpose of checking on the situation there in person. (He'd be back before the darkness lifted, anyway.) By sheer chance and coincidence, he happens to be nearby when he hears the faint sound of what must be fighting -- and promptly follows the noise to the cargo storage, where he frowns and commands:]

What are you doing!? Cease this immediately!

[It's unclear whether he's addressing Hakumen or the drones, but what's for certain is that he's rushing to the scene with the intention of stopping it.]

[decauldron]

[The drones don't respond to Hubert, and neither does Hakumen. The white warrior does manage to slice apart one of the drones that was surrounding him. However, he's far too absorbed in fighting to recognize the voice right now.]

Stay out of this! It doesn't concern you.

[So he says, as another drone appears and takes aim at Hakumen's exposed wings. ...He could definitely use help, even if he doesn't want to admit it.]

[mistyarc]

[This could turn out potentially ugly -- it most certainly will if he allows this to continue. He slows in his advance at Hakumen's words, but the distance between them allows Hubert to see the situation clearly and immediately reach for one of his double blades.

He turns it over and fires an Aqua Bullet at a non-fatal area of the droid's body, knocking the droid back as a ring of mist fades from the impact. He lowers the gun.]

This is no time for internal strife. Return to your posts at once!

[The droids, at least, should be able to compute that simple order. . . . hah. They're serious about taking down their target, whatever the problem is, and Hubert's no captain. But he can say he tried and take further action as necessary.]

[decauldron]

[Unfortunately the drones don't obey, but the Aqua Bullets give enough leeway for Hakumen to swipe at the remaining ones and tear them apart. For now the drones are all torn apart, but there is no telling when more will come.]

You did well.

[He says this quickly and begins to enter the cargo hold.]

[mistyarc]

[Not as planned.]

I -- !

[Miffed and left with the one choice, he tucks the gun away and follows after Hakumen.]

What were you thinking, engaging them in battle . . . !?

[decauldron]

[He makes a small 'hah' and continues inside, not really caring that Hubert is following along.]

You are mistaken. It was they who engaged me, when they realized my intentions.

[mistyarc]

[The discontent is evident in Hubert's voice. So technically, it's still Hakumen who started it.]

And what are your intentions?

[decauldron]

To see what we are risking our lives for. That Commandant will not keep secrets from us.

[As he says that, he zones in on a large stack of boxes by the side. There is little light in the cargo room, but he seems to navigate more than fine through it.]

[mistyarc]

[That shuts Hubert up because he finds that he's curious as well, and Hakumen poses a very good point. They know far too little about the cargo. As his eyes begin to adjust to the darkness of the room, he quietly follows Hakumen's silhouette to a box.

What's in there, he wonders . . . ]

[decauldron]

[Once Hakumen gets close enough, he'll pull out his sword and quickly slam it down on the boxes. Surprisingly, the boxes aren't too reinforced and the sword leaves a rough cut in the middle.]

Take one side of the top and I'll take the other. We'll pry it open and see what's inside.

[mistyarc]

[For a second, he stares at the boxes. They shouldn't be doing this; however . . .

He nods rigidly and reaches for one side of the top as Hakumen instructed.]

[decauldron]

[And once Hubert is on the other side, Hakumen will begin to pull on his side. If they pull together, then the crate top has to come off and reveal what's inside, right?]

[mistyarc]

[Right, or it should be so. Hubert does his part and pulls from his side as well, carefully but also firmly.]

[decauldron]

[Their effort gets the crate to open and reveal what's inside. It's mostly just supplies. Food, clothes and so forth.]

...Is this all? [Color him unimpressed. He was expecting something far more ground breaking, given the Commandant's secrecy.]

[mistyarc]

[Hubert feels the same for a second, until he wonders whether Luceti's being well-supplied is that important to the Organization, or something else is at play . . . ]

That seems to be so.

[decauldron]

Tsk. [He stands and begins to walk toward the cargo door exit. To think he went through all that trouble for something so insignificant. Why even keep it a secret to begin with?] I thank you for assistance, regardless of this fruitless expedition.
