War, the battlefield. This is where he feels most at home. Now hopefully his body will hold together well enough to survive it.]

For the moment, he offers Alexei a nod as a way of accepting - and offering some semblance of thanks - between casting his spells. There's a lot to be done.]

It shouldn't take much longer as it was getting closer to the end of the day and this was probably the enemies' last wave before they returned to...wherever their base of operation was. If only they could send someone back with them...no, that was probably too risky.
To try and stop them from taking down anymore ships, an Elite and few foot soldiers decide to get up close and personal. Foot soldiers were easy enough to take down, but the Elite was smarter than that and uses them as bait so he can get closer, straight for Asch.]

The Elite sees Alexei trying to advance while he fights head on with Asch. He'll simply wave a free hand to raise the water and send them down in forms of icicles to stop him. He'll be trying to dodge those now, but at at least his attention is momentarily split.]

Rising to his feet, he glances over at Alexei. Skilled partner indeed- whoever he is, it's obvious that he's a powerful swordsman.]

Impressive work. [...ugh, as much as he would like to study them, it was probably best to remove it along with the other ones that litter the deck.] We should work on removing some of the carcass off this ship now that we have some time.

His new comrade, however... he can't imagine someone inexperienced making that kind of suggestion.]
You're not new to this, to be so calm about it.

I've seen my share of the battlefield back home. Staying calm is second nature when you had an army to lead.

A commander? [And then, since he dislikes appearing too nosy-] I used to act as a commander for a division of my world's army.

You can still fight though. [...And still rather young.]
