Who: Everyone! What: Everything! When: Whenever! Where: Everywhere! Summary: The draft has been announced, and the players have their parts. Time to get ready. Rating: It'll probably vary

[...Well, this was some lousy timing. If Alphonse hadn't brought his journal along on their impromptu camping trip, Edward wouldn't have even been aware that he was being sent out. He would be grateful if he wasn't so busy being miserable. Being drafted means he has to return to town. Returning to town means seeing certain people he probably isn't ready to see yet. Not that there's anything he can do about that.
Personal problems aside, there's the draft itself... taking place on ships. In the water. When he has two metal limbs and can't swim. Great. Not to mention that - more importantly - a draft is essentially a part of a war, and going into a battle like that is something he hasn't even done as a State Alchemist. People are going to get killed. And he'll be right there in the middle of it

[Smithy? Well, Sokka is there. It's kind of like he and Winry are a two man team again with Edward gone and Hiccup kidnapped. It's, well, lonely.
Still, Sokka is there getting his weapons in order. Nobody's out front at the moment, so Ed may just want to follow the sounds of a mechanical grinding wheel being run.]
[Edward follows the noise, poking his head around the corner of the smithy entrance. For once he actually relaxes at the sight of Sokka, rather than the one he's looking for. He doesn't want to startle Sokka when he's using heavy equipment, though, so he raps his automail knuckles against a chunk of metal by the door, producing a slightly louder knock than just using a doorframe. Hopefully that'll get his attention.]
[A short while before the voting takes place, Norrington's voice comes over out the journals. His tone is even, but not without strength.]Residents of Luceti

[ buffy reaches out to the admiral over the journal. she has her thanks to give, after all -- and some words to share. perhaps even some questions to ask. ]
[Meet up? If she had said; 'we should talk' then he would be there in an instant, no questions asked, but... meet up? It sounds like a social call. He doesn't have the time. For a moment he considers postponing, delaying. After all, he must plan and organize and prepare, and who knows who might call on him with news relevant to the draft following that broadcast? But then, this is Buffy. She masks her words and hides her meanings. Perhaps what she has to say of dire importance -- how could he know?]
[Archie is going to be puttering around all day, trying to make preparations. Supposedly the ships are stocked, but probably only with bare necessities. He's also trying to continue recruitment. So he'll put out an announcement, again.]
This is lieutenant Kennedy. I am have been writing up a list of all experienced sailors as well as those with applicable skills. If you have not spoken with me about this, please do so immediately. Skilled sailors will be distributed fairly equally amongst the ships.

[since the list had gone up, Jilly had been restless. Buffy and McCoy were home...and soon they'd be taken away again. Along with Archie. Horatio. Jack. Giles. Name after name after familiar name.
It wasn't unexpected. Not after two other drafts. But that didn't make her like it any more, and she finds herself walking around the village to keep from going crazy sitting still in her studio]
[Archie has not eaten for most of the day. At some point, he's popping out of Seventh Heaven with another cup of coffee and is too distracted by papers he's reading over to notice Jilly until he very nearly runs into her.]
[having just picked up a new set of books from the library, she nearly drops them as she goes to step back, laughing]
God...that'll teach me to watch where I'm going. [it's light, and she gives him a smile to go with it, but there's a silent question in her eyes, wondering how he's holding up]
[The day before the draft means there's a lot to do. She wakes early up after a light sleep and spends about an hour or so on her floor just stretching and mentally preparing herself.
Right. There are people to visit. Supplies to gather. Possibly more strategy talks to be had... and she still needs to cast her vote for this captaincy thing. So this morning-to-afternoon Katara will be all over the village, up North by the Straw Hats, popping in to at least say goodbye to Certain Ninja Friends, dropping by the Freedom Fighters, possibly visiting the Heart Pirates... and stopping and saying hello to everyone she sees if they pass by.
Also, she's on a mission. She doesn't like Yue being in the house with just Momo and Hawky. She hasn't decided just who she is going to ask yet, but she knows she's going to ask some people to drop in on her, maybe even invite her over

[ the slayer has been awfully troubled of late. and when she's troubled, she likes to patrol. clear her mind. centre herself.
so it is by complete coincidence that she comes across katara in one of her practice spots. at first she stares with that same sort of wonderment she always manages to find for the girl's waterbending -- the few times she's seen it.
[Katara has gotten better at sensing other people when she's practicing - especially if she's practicing not in her own back yard. There's a certain place of focus and awareness that she feels she's beginning to achieve in her bending which is a level even beyond what she'd had when she first came to Luceti. As it is, though she hadn't known Buffy was there, she's not particularly surprise at that sound, however quickly she turns her head. Recognizing Buffy, she smiles.]
That's all right. [She finishes the form in a graceful movement and then streams the water back to her waterskin as she turns to face Buffy.]
I've got a few more private places to do this, but I didn't want to go too far away from the house tonight.
[So intrusion is a risk she's taking!] It's nice to see you, Buffy.
You're getting ready. That's smart. I ran some training routines in the barracks but...[ but her mind and heart weren't in it. buffy trains often but still -- for a slayer -- it's the heat of the moment that brings out the best. she can only hit dummies so long before she starts feeling like a dummy herself. ]
I'm glad you'll be with us. [ she waves a demonstrative hand at that waterskin. ]
[After the announcement on the previous evening, Raine eventually made her way home from the park -- crossing that bridge made her cringe, even if she was sure to do it when it was crowded, but given the situation they were going into, it made the effort more tolerable.
And then preparations. Not that there was too much to be done in the village itself, aside from making a list of things to order and then hunting around in the item shops for certain ... items. Trying not to be preoccupied with what was to come, but she couldn't help but be preoccupied, really.
Aside from that she'll have her journal on her in case people want to ping her that way, though if nothing else, she'll probably be around her house (or visible in the plaza during her trip to the shops/library) and making lists and trying to discern the best ways she can be helpful without being a burden. Bah.]
[Sheena's closing up the tea shop for the day early. Even if Albert does decide to open it while she's gone...it's best to have everything in order. She's passing through the plaza when she spots Raine, offering a nod and sort of a wave.]
[She's not leaving the shops empty handed, but Sheena's sort-of-wave does catch her attention as she moves past her, and she lifts her head to give a nod of her own.]
[If she were to be honest with herself, Sheena still wouldn't know whether or not she wanted to have a conversation right now. But it would be weird not to talk to Raine at least once before the thing started.]

Twenty minutes. I'll be there. Don't bother putting the kettle on -- I don't like tea.
