[Really now... Lilly was just trying to get home, she didn't want to fight this lizardman thing. It wasn't even like the Grasslander one either. Either way it was tough and though she was more skilled at it, the thing just seemed to not want to die. The fact that a little girl is nearby doesn't even merit notice. Yet.]

[Lilly gives a nod, now starting to walk the long way 'round towards the barracks.]

That's right. I started learning around your age, actually. [Or maybe before that. In any case, she had insisted- no demanded it.]

Really? But wouldn't that just ruin your nails?

[tintobrat]

[Well! That's a concern she hasn't heard in a long time. She laughs amused, but pulls off one of her gloves. Painted nails, in more or less perfect condition, are then exposed. They're not as well taken care of as she would normally like, but then she's had to do all the work herself.]

I seem to manage well enough, don't you think?

Wow! That color is so you, Miss Lilly.

[Bright smile! Finally someone who understands these sorts of things.]

It's always nice to meet someone who has good taste. That seems so rare these days!

Especially in a place like this. [She pauses to think. You know, maybe she shouldn't just ditch the girl at the barracks.]

You know, perhaps you should stay at my place for a few nights, mm? At least until this all blows over.

You think so? That would be great if I could! I don't know where my friends are right now, and things are really kind of crazy here...

[tintobrat]

Of course, think nothing of it. Marica and I have one extra room we're not using. [Except the closet, which Lilly has already filled.] It's better than risking it at the Welcome Center, anyway.

I'll take your word for it! Just the idea of being able to sleep in a real bed again sounds pretty wonderful to me.

Oh? Haven't had a real bed in awhile, have you?

It's been some time, I'm afraid. It's been hard to get a break this summer.

[tintobrat]

I don't think it's going to get much better, but you'll have a clean bed at least.
