[Guess who's actually going around outside and being social? That's right: it's Robert, who is pretty much the last person you'd ever expect to be social ever.
He beams at Sayo when he sees her behind the counter, apparently forgetting the fact he showed up to eat lunch in a place with a bunch of people.]
Sayo! It's great to see you - how've you been since we last talked? [He vaguely remembers being a stuttering mess then - man, he was silly before he managed to get over his autism - and so he puts on the most winning smile he can for her.]
She makes the giddiest little face and walks around to give him a big ol' hug. She's been worried about you, you know! You were so worried about all that post-draft business, it was eating her up just thinking about it.]
Robert, it's good to see you, too! I've been just fine!
[oh you have a stray hair poking up there, lemme just fix it for you like it's no big deal]
[That hug? Normally Robert would freeze up, go all stiff and uncomfortable - since he's never hugged Sayo before. Not today. Today he reciprocates that hug as happily as if he'd been trained from birth to give hugs to people. Hell, he almost has a little flourish when he does, and his face is bright.]
Excellent! I hoped that with everything that happened recently, we'd all cheer up a bit, and it seems to have worked.
[Totally grinning at the hair-fixing.] Oh, thanks, I needed that! [Because it's normal for him to not be so OCD that he lets other people fiddle with his hair, even when it's messy. (Normally that is something only Don can do.)]
I've been much better! Ever since I realized the value of being social, I've been having a blast.
The value of being social...? Aaaah, I'm so proud of you! It's always good to learn new ways of life, isn't it? [Not that she's one who realizes she's changed at all.] Are you hungry? I can make you something in the kitchen right now...
[Aw, Sayo's so cute when she forgets things. This is totally workable!]
Well, you know... there're so many different kinds of food here, and I'm just learning some of their names... [Terran cultural homogenization got rid of a lot of ethnic dishes, though more famous ones hung around by sheer cultural memory, albeit in diluted forms. But this iteration of Robert is more socially conscious, and wants more exposure to different kinds of people and places.] I'd like to try something from your time, if you wouldn't mind!
Oh, then I'll just have to make you something with fish and rice. Do you mind those? Ah, and maybe some dango to go with it! [Dango... re-learned a few days ago for the fifteenth time, more than likely.]
Don't be silly! You're the customer after all-and besides, it can be dangerous in the kitchen! There's fire and knives and all sorts of hazardous things! I'll handle everything!

Oh... well, I am a little hungry... Did you have any specials today, Sayo? I'd love to try whatever delicious food you're making!

... I could help with anything, if you need it? [He's so social that he's quite willing to help with jobs if it means being with others.]

[He wonders if he can at least flit around while she cooks.]
