[Ion wasn't sure how it happened, but somewhere along the line he took a wrong turn. He was still out of sorts from his injury the day before and with every corner of this jungle looking like every other corner, it wasn't that difficult to get all turned around. Which way did everyone else go? It wasn't safe to walk around here by himself. He had to hurry and get back...!]

[And that was when he fell in another pit trap. Son of a...!]

[Okay, calm. He had to stay calm. The top of the trap was still mostly covered, so hopefully no predators or third party members would think to look down here... unfortunately, neither would any villagers. And the walls were much too high for him to try and climb out, especially when he still felt so weak. He sat there for one hour... then two... and it wasn't until almost three hours passed that he heard the sound of something approaching the mouth of the pit overhead.]

[He wants to call out to them; it might be someone who could help him... but if whoever it was wasn't friendly, he'd have no way to

Hm... [He gets to his feet and glances overhead. More of the roof of the trap had fallen in with only a bit of overgrowth remaining. There was one bit hanging down just out of reach; what appeared to be a long, thick vine. It was settled apart from the rest of the trap's covering and hadn't been disturbed at all when Ian fell in.]

...do you suppose that's stable enough to try climbing on?

[Ion frowns up at the vine for a moment or two before looking back at Ian.] I don't think I'm tall enough to reach it...
