[ buffy is part of the offensive force and therefore she will be out taking down third partiers; occasionally, those at mccoy's field hospital might see her show up -- if she manages to make her way back, now and then.

things to possibly consider upon tagging her? on day one she will be suffering from an incompatibility. on other days she will probably be seen splattered with blood -- most of it not her own. and she will be dressed in muted, jungle friendly colours. like this, complete with the single braid down the back of her neck.

unless you're from a certain particular short-list of individuals, buffy summers will be incredibly 'all slay -- no play' in her demeanor.

Day 1?

[Giles has decided to stick close to McCoy's camp - he knows he won't be much help in setting it up, but he can still patrol the perimeter and keep an ear out for trouble while everyone else does.

Buffy, if she's anywhere nearby, will probably find him doing so. He's currently using a crossbow, although there is a pistol on his belt. Otherwise? He's taken everyone's advice dead seriously, and is dressed to take advantage of the jungle colors with as many pockets as possible.

The second he hears her footsteps nearby, he raises the crossbow at her. A half second later, he blinks his eyes clear enough to realize that she doesn't have the full sized wings he's been told to look for, and lowers the weapon.]

Everything all right out there?

[ for the first day -- now that she has figured out that she's having some, ah, problems -- buffy is sticking closer to camp than she had anticipated. ]

Define 'all right'? [ she asks not because she needs it defined but because she needs giles to know that it's her. ]

[It's a war. Things are never "all right" - the question was asked for the sole purpose of getting whoever it was to identify themselves. Giles nods slightly when he identifies Buffy's voice.]

Day 1 - Shortly after arriving

[Greed (or is it Ling?) arrived ready to do some damage. Two steps after walking away from his arrival spot, he falls to the ground, face first. WOW HE IS TIRED. Or maybe just hungry. Is it a Shift Incompatibility or just his normal thing?]

[Masaomi landed in to the same drop zone and... ... Dude. Isn't that the Ling fellow who said he would capture and enemy and be all impressive? Masaomi sees through his haze and breaks off a little from Gold and Mewtwo to lightly kick this guy int he side.

Did he just die?]

[Ling just groans. He's mumbling something, but not loud enough to be heard.]

[If anyone looks out on the battlefield and sees a small wave of incoming soldiers, it's recommended you don't blink. The moment you do they might suddenly all go down in an instance, with bullet holes covering their bodies. If you really have sharp eyes a young girl can be spotted behind the fallen soldiers, but in an instant she'll be gone as well

There was a shout in the gray area. She couldn't pinpoint the person with the voice, but it was there and she was sure of it. Someone immune to her time magic and it could be anyone of the people fighting around her. Damn.

She sighed. There was no need to worry. They could make their own judgments, even if they did happen to see her. However, it certainly won't stop her from continuing. She has no time to worry about other people knowing she uses magic. There are enemies coming at them from different directions and using guerrilla warfare. If they aren't stopped they can retreat and continue on.

So, several seconds after the end of the first time freeze, Homura will reactivate her shield and pull the area into a noticeable gray zone. This time she'll quickly go deeper into the wave and prepare a couple grenades to quickly wipe out other incoming forces.]

Any day, up to the night of the 5th

[Giles is staying back with McCoy's camp, for the most part. He can fetch and carry, with direction, or do some rudimentary setup. Mostly, though, he'll be patrolling so everyone else can do the setting up. Don't think you can sneak up on the ex-Watcher that easily - his eyes might not be working so well, but every other sense is on high alert for signs of the Third Party or hostile wildlife.

Feel free to catch him as much as five minutes away from the camp, armed with the recommended gear as well as weaponry - whether he uses the crossbow, the pistol, or the black spell book depends on what comes at him.

His journal stays with him constantly, on and transmitting. If he comes across a villager, hears one nearby, or is hailed over the journal, he'll assist where he can. The lack of power cap means that he's a little more powerful magically than he is normally, and thanks to Catherine's tip his Filial magic is working double time.]

Day 1, near the hospital camp

[Jack is patrolling around the borders of the camp, keeping an especial eye out for tigers. Tigers are some of the deadliest beasts in any jungle, or so the stories from his mother's village insist, and he doesn't want anyone dragged off by one.

When he sees Giles with a crossbow, he is tempted to turn and walk in the opposite direction. But then he recalls the blindness. Bugger.]

All right, former Watcher?

[Giles lowers the crossbow he'd been about to raise before Jack spoke.]

Fine. Nothing more dangerous than expected, yet. [There are a few spots of blood on his clothes already, but he doesn't appear to be injured.]

[The pirate notices that blood but says nothing about it. If the man seems okay? He is not going to bring up a few stray bloodstains.]

Late Day 1 through the morning of Day 4

[Thanks to Shikamaru's magic scrolls, Kennedy has three cannons set up at the perimeter of McCoy's camp. Keeping the powder barrels sealed tightly enough to keep the humidity out is a problem, but doable as long as it's not pouring rain. In the meantime, all the guns are on good ground--not high ground, but at the perfect height to slam shot or an explosive shell into an enemy's chest. The trees around will provide extra shrapnel but also limit visibility.

If the camp is attacked, Kennedy is both commanding and loading, though how many guns are in action depends on how many volunteers he has to help load them.

During quiet times, he'll be keeping watch, catching a quick meal or rest, writing to someone in his journal, or trying to make himself otherwise useful.]

[ since learning of her incompatibility, buffy has been sticking close to the camp. she's supposed to be out with the offensive forces but spontaneous napping has kept her back.

doesn't mean she doesn't try wandering out on her own, though. she hates playing patient. therefore, archie -- late on day 1 -- might come across buffy crumpled up at the base of a tree. snoring. ]

[Ah, this. Archie went through this during the last draft. Drawing out his pistol in case anything jumps out at them, he gently takes hold of a shoulder and shakes.]
