[And taking things down is something the "extra calvary" was very skilled at. The Shifters had one fatal flaw, and that's that they could only technology or magic, not both at the same time. And while Celty's abilities were magical in nature, Gurren Lagann's, piloted by Gold and Simon, were most assuredly bullshit technology.

And so here comes Gurren Lagann, speeding towards the group on a newly acquired rocket-propelled skateboard.]

Go, Simon! Do it now! [Their target is that Shifter in the middle! And really, what hope do its protectors have against a 40-foot tall mecha?]

Haaaaaaa! [Not much protection at all, especially when there's a ten-foot drill aimed right at them. The Shifter only has a moment to look up in shock, glowing eyes widening, before the drill connects, and they - and the entire area around them - vanishes in a cloud of decimated earth. With one of them luring the Shifter and the others on the offensive, there's no way they can lose to these guys.

There's no time to really think about what they're doing here- people are dying, after all, and that's not something kids should just get used to. But it's kill or be killed, just like home. What choice is there?]

Just setting them up seems to be the main task. They need to be placed in defensive formations at all likely corners where we will be attacked.

[If anyone on the front lines is in need of a healer, Raine is available for doing just that, as well as lending fighters strength and defense, as well as other support.

And if the third party gets too close, she can offer support with her light magic spells as well.

All very tiring work, but a battle is a battle: she's there as needed. Though even healers need defending too, sometimes.]

[Mercury may be fighting nausea, but she fights the good fight. She has something to focus on, and mind over matter has always been far more than a motto for her.

Her blue skin, on the hand, elicits no more than a private, wry smile to herself, once it seems to carry no other effects with it.

Right now, true to her word earlier, she is setting up a makeshift medical station and laying out a few basic supplies. Help out? Ask for help?]

[Vash will be keeping himself busy. He’s going to try and behave himself, sticking with the defensive group and making sure the ones who can’t fight or are busy giving medical attention are well protected. Quickly taking out any Third Party member that foolishly thinks of coming nearby those he considers under his protection. His aim is cool, calm, and deadly precise. That of course would be if he was aiming for killing blows

[Bernkastel is easy taking care of any soldiers that come near her, slashing her scythe and letting her cats chew on their flesh once she's disabled them.

But, when she notices Vash going around trying to heal and rope Third Party Members she sneers and comes closer to him.]

You know, they wouldn't heal you if you needed assistance.

Frontlines, first day

[Jack be nimble, Jack be quick, Jack pumped a dozen rounds into a flying soldier and watched him fall out of the sky. Stepping through the battlefield like a souped up Rambo armed with two machine guns, Jack may be enjoying this battle a little too much. He's never fought in a war where he had such a significant advantage and little worry of his own death.]

[ it is easier to look her freshest on the first day. no stains, yet. no bruises so far on top of bruises that by one heals a new one's in place. no strained scowl. not that she looks happy -- oh, no. not at all.

buffy uses her crossbow to bury a bolt in the chest of an oncoming soldier. she is in the area although not explicitly with jack horner. ]
