[Golbez is investigating the celebration, noting both the strange behavior of the animals and the wine and juice flowing. He has yet to actually get involved himself, having... significant distrust of what's happening.]

[Rydia perks up as she spots him, ignoring the others around as she heads over. A wide smile forms.]

Hello, Golbez!

[Have a hug.]

[He jerks a bit in surprise before turning to her.]

Good afternoon. You're affectionate today.

[He pats her shoulder awkwardly.]

[She shrugs, that smile not fading and still standing close.]

It's a good day, so why not?

This is incredible, isn't it? I had to pause and see it for myself.

[ Poppet came by just to see what all the fuss is about, and now she is STARING at some of the birds. Just. Staring. wtf are they doin'. Sipping juice from a goblet while she watches, too. Because hey, free juice. That can't go wrong at all, can it? ]

Everything's kind of strange, lately...

[Sokka has already been into the stuff. So naturally he has no problem draping an arm around this girl he's never met and giving her a goofy grin.] Strange in a good way!

[ totally doesn't mind being draped on by a stranger she's never met! in fact, she'll lean into it a little and smile right back at him. ]

Yeah! It sounds like everyone's been happy. I don't know what's going on, but I think I like it!

It's this STUFF! [Sokka holds up a goblet of juice.] I think it makes people act weird!

[Wake up early this morning? Check.
Attempt to get through simple conversation with her son without unexplained light headed laughter prompting awkward subject change? Check.
Ignore previously mentioned laughter, dazed behavior, and inward taxing overwhelming emotional distress for it to be dealt with later? ...check.
Groceries? Check.
Attempt a mind numbing walk through Luceti only to find the courtyard in a state that kind of makes her eyes burn.... um, check?]

...this place is so weird.

[Have Mama A here with two bags at her sides, the display is ridiculous but... she is curious.]

[Oh. Hello there. Her three eyes will blink when she lets out a soft sigh, ooof-- The week is catching up to her.]

I read the guide when I got here but still.

[This gaudiness came out of nowhere.]

Aa, nobody ever really sees it coming.

You're pretty new, then?

[Terra's by the fountain, staring at the liquid speculatively. She's not one for wine, under normal circumstances. That it's pouring from the fountain hardly makes it one of those, though she appreciates all the other decorations. There are a couple of snowdrops in a hand, as she couldn't resist picking them. Still, she's not quite getting into the spirit of things. Someone convince her to try the wine?]

[Well, Flik was on his way to the clinic to go visit Terra and had something cute to give her, but seeing her by the fountain surprises him even if he's glad to see she's well.] Are you doing all right, Terra?

[Terra looks up from inspecting the fountain and smiles upon seeing him.]

Flik! I'm feeling a bit better.

[Trying to sound more confident than she feels, but at least the town isn't spinning around her anymore.]

I'm wondering what all this is about, though....

[His smile grows wider when he sees her looking much better. He's going to give her the gift he brought though. It's just a cute and cuddly little stuffed animal, but girls tend to like cute things and all from what he knows.] Not sure honestly. Everyone looks happy enough though.

...wow.

[Rydia's standing at the edge of the central courtyard, staring in awe at the willow tree and white flowers. She wanders around the area, weaving her way around people and peering at absolutely everything while listening to the chirping of the birds above. A few airborne petals brush against her cheek, some landing in her hair. She barely pays attention to that, though, instead focusing on the fountain.]

'Dragobete'? What's that?

[She regards the liquid in the fountain thoughtfully before dipping in one of the goblets. There's a moment's hesitation, but she lifts it to her lips anyway. The taste is sweet, nothing odd about it. A few more sips are taken after a moment of noticing nothing odd, and then she sets the goblet down as something else gets her attention.

A soft smile forms as she spots the snowdrop plants, and she picks a few. One is tucked behind an ear, but she holds onto the others. Might as well share the beauty, right?]

[This guy is around, and while he might not know Rydia particularly well... he can answer the question given that he grew up in the region in which the holiday originates. As such-]

It's a holiday.

[Rydia straightens as she pulls her thoughts away from Kain and how she ought to tell him about this weirdness (and doubting that he'll be curious enough to visit town for it). She looks over and smiles upon having some of her curiosity satisfied. People really are friendly today...and some part of her can guess that it's not a coincidence, but she doesn't seem to care.]

So, everything here is related to that holiday, then? It's like Valentine's Day?

A little bit. [A pause... there's a lot of explain and despite being from Kosovo (Or rather, Yugoslavia... or Serbia. Thinking about the contested nature of where he grew up brings him back to the war that took his family, sigh) which is near Romania and them having the holiday where he grew up he doesn't consider himself any expert on Romanian culture; he doesn't trust himself to go into the mythology surrounding it; so let's hit up the practical value-] It's considered a day for lovers. It refers to when birds start to make nests with their mates.
