[Locked Transmission to Residents]

[There is the faint sound of papers shuffling, and of a woman clearing her throat, before Raine comes into view in the video portion. She's clearly speaking, though in a smaller area underneath her image after the video runs for the first time, text comes into view as well - a transcript of sorts.]Good evening, everyone. The date is March 19th of ( Read more... )

We need to talk.

[He looks around and shifts on his feet a bit before speaking.] What was I involved in? Who might I need to contact? Things that your guide cannot tell me.

I suppose that might be a little more complicated, considering that you've only just returned without your memories. Some of your previous responsibilities have either been picked up by other villagers, or currently disbanded. You were very involved with the village defense, and often conferred with the leaders of the Blue Rogues and Brave Vesperia.

It... might be better for you to speak to Albert Silverberg on some of those matters, rather than me. When he returns from the battle, that is.

[Albert Silverberg. He commits the name to memory and nods once, sharply. She may not think she can answer his questions, but she's given him a purpose, and a purpose is enough. From barely relaxed, his shoulders draw up a little higher, a little further back, his chin a little higher; business stance. Hero stance.]

Until then, have you need of anything?

I thought I would ask how you had been settling in, otherwise. Or if there was something else that I could possibly clarify.

[...And shoulders down. He glances off to the side before answering.] As well as can be expected. If you are going somewhere, might we discuss this and walk?

Yes, we could, as I suppose I should be heading back to my house. It won't be too much out of your way, I hope.

No. [Even though he has no clue where it is. So he'll let Raine start walking first before moving to keep pace with her.] ... There are means to communicate privately here?

[How very familiar to her walk with his mother just earlier in the week.]

Do you mean through these journals... or in general? When we want to communicate privately through the journals, there is a method of filtering; I can show you, if you'd like, once we get to the house. Although, save from the message that I broadcast earlier, all other messages can be read by the Malnosso.

[Except his mother is so much less demanding.]

I would appreciate it. I will be of less use, otherwise. [A pause, then-] Are there as many incapable of defending themselves as you implied?

Putting it into perspective, the majority of the villagers are capable fighters in some degree. But there is still the percentage who aren't, or those who haven't been properly trained, or those that could be that lack experience. ... It's likely between 20 and 25 percent at the most, though with the way the cycles have been lately, it's hard to say for certain.

It is still too many. I will try to change this. [And that is a promise, Ms. Sage.]

I have no doubt that you will. Although some of those people may be difficult to convince as well. [Like certain strategists.]

I'm told I am quite stubborn. [His smile is small, fleeting, but there all the same. But there are other, more serious goings-on to think about.] You're not among that number?

I'm not a stranger to battles. Though fighting in a group is different than when you're on your own.

Many things are easier with others to support you. [Other than that, he's content to walk her home in silence, taking careful note of the surroundings. Talkative, he is not.]
