Quality Man Time . Destiny Islands . Open & Complete

Since the blonde kid had nicely invited them both into his home, Reno started, well, making himself quite at home. In the place of Tidus, Reno removed himself from the seat and walked over to where the plated had been left out. The redhead snatched one of the plates that Tidus had left, and gestured to Quistis with it, "Guess it's just you and me ( Read more... )

Things had gone from bad to worse. Quistis rubbed her temple as she moved from the doorway she was standing in to take a chair by the table. She didn't want to spend the night on Destiny Islands, she didn't want to be a guest in someone's home - a someone she hardly knew, at that - and she didn't want to be left alone with this man who insisted on calling her 'Poppet.'

"Man time," she stated dryly. "Are you serious?" As she watched Reno rummage through the kitchen like he owned the place, she realized he was serious. With a sigh, she put an elbow on the table and placed her head on her hand. Tidus was in for a treat when he got back. Maybe he would change his mind about travelling with them after this ( ... )

“Egh. Well now that you mention it..” Reno had half a mind to start pointing out the lack thereof of some of the more female assets; to get a decent dinner that wasn’t poisoned, he neglected to do so. He could tell that it was pretty obvious that she wasn’t a man because she lacked a few key parts, but it was also pretty obvious she lacked a sense of humor as well. People with bone-dry personalities always gravitated to him and always made things so unpleasant. “Obviously they forgot the chapter about humor in finishing school. Or.. Military school.” The second guess sounded more correct. Grumbling never made anything better, and here he was trying to have a nice time and be relaxed about things.

Good Christ, the way she was acting he would have thought her to be one of those pain in the ass SeeD from back home. The attitude, the snark that he was having to deal with-It was a damned good thing that she wasn’t.

Well, to calm miss Quistis down a little bit maybe they’d have to have a little compromise, “Why don’t you just relax, ( ... )

What was this guy's problem? Quistis almost slammed her fist on the counter. This was getting extremely close to the last straw. She could only take so much of an attitude before cracking. "Look," she said, raising a finger dangerously close to Reno's face. "I didn't chose to be stuck with you. Under other circumstances, I would avoid you like the plague." The last word was a hiss, with eyes only slits. "So here's another news flash for you: I don't enjoy your company. She turned and laid both of her hands flat on the counter, closing her eyes to regain her composure. "You're right," Quistis said quietly. "They don't teach humor in military school. You can't help anyone by cracking a few jokes." A few moments later, she straightened out her back, standing straight, and cleared her throat. "So. Let's just get through tonight, and hope we never have to see each other again ( ... )

Well, what could he say about that? Any blonde female that just happened upon him in the middle of paradise he’d probably avoid himself to. Instead of being insulted, grumpy, angry or any variation of those negative emotions, the redhead shrugged, “At least you’re honest.” Even if she couldn’t read too deep into it he was making an honest effort to try and be tactful at the moment. Being a stuck-up broad was her own prerogative as well as anything else. Why ever would he not want to meet this wonderful dame again? She was just so charming he could barely contain himself ( ... )
