Riku came out of the item shop only a few moments later, a little annoyed with the proprietors (their resemblance to Sora's duck friend was uncanny and made him angry for no good reason) but satisfied with the deal he had gotten. He'd been trying for months to work out some sort of an arrangement where he could buy potions in bulk, and the triplets had just consented. It was with relief that he felt his pocket jingle with left-over munny--something unheard of for him.
He smelled Naminé in the square and grinned, jogging over to her. "Sorry I'm a little late. Are you ready?" He knew he didn't need to wait for an answer, so he led the way to the huge third district doors. "Here it is..."
Riku pushed the doors open and stood back, allowing Naminé to experience her first sight of the third district, but with his hand cupped instinctively in case he had to call his sword. This was the most dangerous sector of Traverse, after all.
Naminé didn't have to wait very long, she saw Riku coming out of what she could guess was the item shop. Smiling as he jogged up, Naminé laughed at his question and his subsequent action of leading her to the large double doors over on the side. She didn't mind, she was actually looking quite forward to seeing the rest of Traverse

Before Sephiroth could respond to Reno's comment, and point out that it had been lame when Reno said it in the first place, his attention was drawn to the massive doors to the First District being pushed open. He was briefly distracted by astonishment as his eyes fell first on the same man who'd appeared in his room with Zack in tow - Riku had been his name, hadn't it? What the hell was he doing back here?
After a moment's rather suspicious studying of the man, he shifted his gaze to Riku's companion - a slender, rather pale girl who was...
Laughing.
At them, apparently.
His eyes narrowed. "What the hell is so funny?" he muttered.
The silence made him think that his point had been proven-that it was not himself who was inept, but alas the general! The conversation beforehand was almost completely disregarded altogether when something vastly more interesting made their way on the scene, two of them. Reno craned his head forward trying to get a better view of the two; one of them, whom his eyes digressed to first, that little cute thing dressed in white. Looked a little too young and flat for his liking, but give 'er a few years and she’d probably be a bombshell.
Then there was the other one.
Reno took a step or two forward to get a better look at him. "Huh..?" One look at the platinum haired kid, then back to Sephiroth, then back to the general. Repeated again a few times to make sure this wasn’t a case of hallucination as the wall talking was moments before. Reno cleared his throat rather loudly. So that was the reason Sephiroth walked around without a shirt-side effects like this. Too bad that it seemed that the general had slipped up once and had a

Riku was pleasantly surprised by Sephiroth's reaction. His opinion of the man went up a few notches when he noted the formal tone and the respect shown for Naminé's presence. Riku wasn't much for formality, but the presence of women was something that turned an unconscious switch in his brain, an instinctive need to protect. He actually started to unbend for a moment, giving Sephiroth an equally stiff nod

Now, Naminé wasn't exactly floored by Reno's rudeness, as he somewhat reminded her of Axel, and the scene was actually still quite amusing to her. But her laughing wouldn't help anything, of course, and Riku looked pretty... upset.
So, of course, she didn't say anything, but Naminé was starting to get a bit worried. Did this happen all the time in Traverse, or was she just unlucky at the fact they stumbled upon this group? She let out a sigh of relief when Riku conceded to not starting a fight. Now, the question was, would those two let them go?
Reno simply would not shut up, even though Sephiroth could practically SEE his comments grating against Riku's nerves. Had the word 'dangerous' not penetrated the Turk's thick skull, or was he genuinely as suicidal as he was acting?
"Reno," he said, in the most level voice he could manage, although he made no effort whatsoever to disguise the steely undertones, "shut up or I'm going to throw you in the fountain and hold you under." Sephiroth didn't like making idle threats - and this one was mostly idle, because while he certainly would enjoy throwing Reno in the fountain he wouldn't hold him underwater - but the man obviously wasn't exercising the slightest amount of self-restraint on his own account and, even if Sephiroth had still been a general, he couldn't pull rank on the man and ORDER him around. The Turks had been an entirely separate organization than SOLDIER, without even formal ranks of their own, and as such Sephiroth had technically never outranked Reno(of course, Reno had never outranked HIM either, and a good thing it

Ah, he never did quite enjoy the lecture portion of the military-which seemed to reiterate and kick him square in the ass at the moment since there was a general in the vicinity. Even then he never paid mind to them unless they were from someone superior. Sephiroth didn't fall in that category, If so, he would've abided a tad more to anything he was suggested. [Evermore if he were given something for doing so.] In cases there were no real benefits to be had. He was already wet, half drown, and threatened in almost every way possible. Too bad intimidation worked just about as well as the previous
