Leon knew that he should have been taking the opportunity to rest. Having only slept a handful of hours since his arrival to Traverse after a long journey -- No thanks to that idiot Zell, he thought viciously -- he sorely needed it. Sleep had lost its appeal after that meeting, however. There was too much to take in, namely the full extent of Ansem ( Read more... )

While Roy wasn't sure where exactly the hotel was, he could make an educated guess. There weren't many businesses that seemed to be up and running in Traverse Town anymore, so it would have to be someplace that actually looked like people were occupying it ( ... )

It was quiet enough that Leon was well aware of the presence that was drawing near, but he didn't turn to acknowledge the stranger's approach until he was addressed. Even then, the lion was reluctant to be pulled out of his thoughts, though his hand finally dropped to the hilt of his gunblade almost casually as he turned to regard the man in -- uniform? Leon's brows rose, a spark of interest in his grey blue eyes.

Leon's gaze followed where the man's finger pointed before turning to face him again. The lion's interest had not yet faded. He nodded. "Yes. Are you planning on staying for the night?" he asked, wondering if there was anyone present to take accept payment for offering room and board.

Aerith had left in a huff, Zack was useless and Sephiroth -- well, who knew what the General was up to? It would be up to Leon to handle affairs, then.

The first thing Roy noticed was the man's peculiar weapon. It wasn't because he felt threatened - the way the stranger was touching at it didn't hint that he was about to use it - but because it wasn't anything he'd seen before. It mainly looked like a sword, but there was a trigger for a gun there. He was entirely fascinated.

He didn't have all the time in the world to admire it, though. The stranger was responding, after all. Lifting his head, he considered his question and then nodded. "I was looking for somewhere to stay, yes. I'm planning to leave tomorrow... morning for Hollow Bastion." He hoped that actually meant something to the man - but once again, he seemed experienced.

"The weapon of yours," he continued, unable to hold back his curiosity. "What is it?"

Leon's brow furrowed thoughtfully. It seemed that many people were heading to Hollow Bastion these days. It made sense, however. Hollow Bastion was where the Council had established its base of operations, after all. It was the center of everything in regards to the war, and from what Leon had heard, there was no safer haven.

"You're in luck," he said. "The inn has several vacancies now." He wasn't sure if the fee had changed since, but it wouldn't hurt to go by the usual if this man was only going to stay for the night.

Leon's eyebrows rose when the man mentioned his gunblade. Of course, it wasn't the first time anyone had ever expressed curiosity over his weapon, but it was still interesting to think that the gunblade was something exclusive to Hollow Bastion when so many other types of arms -- guns, swords, etc. -- seemed so universal.

"It's called a gunblade," he explained. "The gun part is a revolver. This one is originally from Hollow Bastion, though I don't know if they make them elsewhere."
