As Will rose, a triumphant smile came to Elizabeth's face. Though part of her had bristled as he questioned Touma, all was forgotten as she struggled not to kiss him right then and there in front of their new friend. She'd like to think of him as a friend rather a convenience, now that the sole reason for calling him a convenience seemed to be in the possession, of a certain pirate. It was all very amusing in a sadistic sort of way

"The port in general is completely deserted," Will provided, his expression dropping slightly. He'd just been there, among the rubble and the skeletons of buildings. Everything smelled like death and those creatures. Inky black things, as Jack liked to call them

So then they had a reason for everyone being here, but no reason to be staying around lollygagging. Norrington seemed quite tied to his business, Elizabeth was busy giving her father a few more grey hairs, and Sir William no doubt brandishing the dock with his heroics in attempt to further win the girl and life of eternal servitude to his lass (or something that had a lesser profit to it). Then there was of course the Frenchman who was indeed not French. Of all the shocking turn of events
( ... )
Norrington glanced at the 'Frenchman' as he spoke up to supply some additional - and not particularly reassuring - information to confirm Port Royal's state, which was only cemented by Will Turner's reiteration of that fact and Elizabeth's remark

So we had Will and Elizabeth eagar to leave, Jack wanting to commandeer a new ship, and James - at least, that's what Touma thought he had heard earlier - wanting information on Port Royal.
Will's question about the Heartless intrigued him though. Either he and the other residents avoided the Heartless until they were overtaken, or their weapons weren't effective against them - which didn't make much sense. If they really wanted or needed answers, then he would interject with his wisdom.
Touma decided to wait quietly and let the others figure out what they wanted to do about...everything before he left. Now knowing just how primitive this world was, he didn't want to shock anyone, cause riots, or the like.
