Bedtime Story [Traverse Town/Closed]

Aug 29, 2006 13:24

Traverse Town had changed so much since the first time Sora had woken up in one of its alleys. Four years ago there had been a sparse amount of people around, usually only in the First District. Now there were much more people, and they were everywhere. It was hard for him to find a quiet place to sit and read.

Finally he found himself sitting on a roof; he had climbed up there after finding a convenient formation of stones and ledges. He took a moment to look over the city and up at the night sky. The people who now called this place ‘home’ had lost their stars from the sky and Sora wondered if was actually seeing dark patches in the sky, or if it was just his mind playing tricks on him. It wasn’t as if he had memorized the star formations in the sky of this world.

He shook his head. He couldn’t spend his time gawking at the stars, he had reading to do. His hand pulled Sephiroth’s notes from his pocket (he had put them there for safe keeping when he climbed).

Then he read.

When he was done he felt as if there was a huge weight on his chest, pushing down on his heart. It hurt. He carefully set the notes down, making sure they wouldn’t slide off the roof. He laid back and looked up at the sky. The stars twinkled. He watched them.

He fell asleep.
