I do not understand go. I tried playing against my brother, but I did not have a clue what he was doing. And so I made him play against himself (game below).
I don't know how to play at all! I've tried doing some of those problem sets the year before last and I've read through some basic rules and so forth, but when I'm in front of a go board, I just have no idea where to start and no idea what any of the moves entail. So yeah, when my brother moved out, I let him take the go board with him.
Do you ever play online? (I've never tried. Since, I'd be blindly making my moves. =x)
Oh that's lovely! I really like the look of the stones. My set is cheap and plastic. ::sighs:: Well I do have a portable magnetic one too, but it's also cheap and mostly there for the novelty of having one.
I have two go books in Korean at home and my father's been trying for ages to teach me, but alas, I have no head for it. I lost by fifty moku last time I played him...no joke! ;_; One of these days I'll try to learn again...or so I say.
Omg, I want an uncle to play go! I played go like crazy for two months back in high school... I am about 17 kyu now but I never play anymore cause I get too nervous to focus -__-;; aaah but I will teach you what I can online if possible! =D Go is so wonderful <3 it's such an amazing game.
None of your relatives play go? Then how did you start?
17 kyu? :DD I think that's higher than my brother's rank. He stopped playing too though, so I think his skill went down lately. Hm, I don't even know the basics, but if you're willing, I'd looove to learn. ^___^
I learned from this site and from playing on KGS XD aaah I started cause of Hikaru no Go ^^;; we all did, but I got really addicted to it for a while and played very intensily online for about two months, then only played once in a while after that. Now I hardly ever play, so I think my skillz have gone down a lot -__-;;;
I want your Uncle's go room. It's so lovely. *__* I tried playing go, but I just can't make a decent game and my kohai was better at it than me. He also had his own goban (the foldable one) which he brought to our organization every now then. I remembered a lot of the org members going, wah, shiny goban! Let's play. XD
My brother was playing against himself and not thinking too much through the moves, so I don't know how well he was faring. (I only played the first few moves. I was like, 'yay, I'm taking the star points!' -_-;; )

Those stones were really pretty. (I wonder what they were made of?)
Only my uncle plays and I rarely see him, so no one to teach me! Though, my brother did offer before, but I still didn't get it.
Wow. Fifty moku. Still, it's very believable.
