My first thought was, "Wow. Lots of meds." My second thought was, "But they're sleeping and I've been up for an hour with a cranky teething baby." Yeah, this isn't rocket science.

Yeah, despite having worked in the pharmaceutical industry for a number of years, I still tend to have an "is this really necessary?" approach to using medications. In general, I'd rather get better without having to take anything. On the other hand, the medical establishment as a whole is extremely cautious about drugs for children, and given both the doctor's recommendation and the huge volume of safety data available for oldies like ibuprofen and acetaminophen, I don't have too many qualms about this approach. If you want to give it a shot, check out the dosage charts here:

Oh, I remember why we don't give her tylenol now... Teresa suddenly goes bouncing-off-the-walls-crazy. I'm sure it's fine, health-wise, but not fine for my ability to handle her. She's energetic enough as it is! Haven't tried ibuprofen though. That might be good. Topical orajel seems to help but not long enough to really make it worth it unless she's really having trouble. Last night was just a fussy-want-to-nurse-all-night kind of night.
