MBTI and Wargaming

I see ENTJ has a respectable showing. Interesting study!

I wonder why the author doesn't try to explain that second largest group is ISTJ. Would that be Inspectors are so focused on the rules of war gaming? I'd like to see a study on the personality types of war game designers.

I've tested out as an ISTJ as well. Sometimes the mood I'm in seems to be the most important thing in determining what MBTI comes out of the test. The description of an Inspector seems to be a fair one of a gamer as well, though perhaps more along the line of "rules lawyer".

As for war game designers, you are working with a much smaller group of people. Perhaps fewer than 200 people in the world have more than 1 or 2 actual wargame designs under their belts. There are different schools of design philosophy too; some are certainly more "intuitive" or impressionistic than others, who can be extremely rigid and deterministic in their way.
