I have never had to deal with such unpleasant and uncompromising people as with those from Canada Post. It makes me think about how much their jobs must suck. What a miserable organization (or corporation, in response to your comment re: the real money).

My general take on labour relations is that usually Management gets the Labour it deserves, and vice versa. Both sides spend so much time and energy making things unpleasant for each other that I'm surprised any mail gets delivered at all....
